Who we are

We are a team of dedicated educators who have a passion to support students with reading disabilities and difficulties such as dyslexia.

Our Mission

To provide students and their families with an educational education that will impact their learning—for a lifetime

What Makes Us Unique

We offer individualized reading intervention (in-person, virtual, or hybrid) with both 1 on 1 intervention or small group

Our Services

Going beyond tutoring…creating an Educational Intervention

Tutoring vs Intervention:

Reading and dyslexia tutoring is an excellent resource for many children who need some help catching up when either they are a bit behind, or struggle to grasp a new concept.  For students with learning disabilities, or dyslexia, a researched based program systematically teaching new skills is crucial to school success!

Individual In-Person Intervention

Student meets with our reading interventionist for a one-on-one session utilizing our Science of Reading/Orton Gillingham based curriculums.

Small Group Intervention

Small Group In-Person and Virtual depending on student availability):  a small group of 2-3 students grouped with similar age/ability levels working together—this is a more cost-effective strategy for families, and for some students, working with a peer(s) in addition to a supportive adult can be very motivating!

Virtual Intervention:

The same curriculum and methodology is used as in-person tutoring, but utilizing our specialized reading intervention platform that still allows students to engage and stay focused in the intervention.  Additionally, parent/student coaching strategies are provided to help ensure the student stays focused and motivated throughout the virtual intervention session!

Our Program

Tutoring vs. Reading Intervention

At Reading Excellence Center, we believe in going BEYOND TUTORING.  Tutoring is an excellent resource for students who need some additional help to bring them up to speed in a challenging course or area of difficulty.

For students who have dyslexia or are struggling readers, a systematic/structured READING INTERVENTION is required for students to learn the skills to read.  We utilize two strong curriculums that are Research Based and proven to provide meaningful and measurable growth for students.  Both curriculums utilize the trusted Orton-Gillingham method of teaching reading.

Overcoming dyslexia and other reading disabilities/difficulties can be done, but takes a combination of a strong curriculum, taught by a strong reading interventionist, to motivate the student to push through challenges and to inspire confidence!
